Blank MAC Face Charts

I wanted to get these out to you so you could use them to create and document all of your pretty makeup looks for yourself. Often makeup artists use face charts so that multiple artists can have a reference to one look, for events like fashion shows. They also use them to put their creativity down on paper and save it. I myself have tossed the files into Photoshop to do a quick test

You can use whatever you like to create on them, even real makeup. If you opt for that route, you might want to opt to avoid using cream products or anything that doesn’t dry on them, and possibly save them with some sort of protector over them, such as plastic or parchment paper when storing them to avoid transferring product onto other papers or objects.

Some tips for using makeup on them:

  • Print the face chart on a cart stock like paper texture to help ‘grip’ makeup
  • Dust a white eyeshadow over eyelid before other shadows to help blendability
  • Use a liquid eyeliner brush and check-mark style ‘C’ shapes to create lashes
  • Avoid filling in face color to keep from wasting product; if you really want it, try dusting a face powder along the outside of the face to ‘imply’ the color
  • You can make lips look ‘glossy’ by putting a white oval or two on the off-centered top area of each lip
  • If you want to scan the face charts after applying makeup, I recommend investing in clear plastic sheets (like transparencies) to put between the paper and the scanner if you use makeup on them
If you click on the individual face chart, you should get a full sized image you can print out. There’s also the nifty little space to the left for writing down products.
