Did you guys hear about some new law that all beauty bloggers and makeup gurus on youtube and on any blog have to say where they got each product they used and whether they got it for free or are being paid to use it in their tutorials, and or if they paid for it themselves?  It's weird, but I don't really get anything free lol, so I'm not worried for myself, but it just seems like its going to take a lot of time out of tutorials and stuff because you have to say something about each product!  Well, what do you guys know or think about this law?  I don't know much about it, just what I have heard, so if you know what it is exactly let us know! :)

It's by the FTC, whatever that is.  It's from the federal government according to the youtube gurus that I have on my twitter and stuff.  They have all been complaining about it because now they might have to take down all their old videos.  It's effective Dec. 1st, but I don't know much about it.  I think its retarded though lol

I doubt it's just for makeup people... and it's probably not that extreme...

------

Okay... so I found THIS ARTICLE... and it's for bloggers in general... and it seems to be directed more to disclosing whether the company is paying them to review the product or whether the product was sent to them for free to review... I don't see anything mentioning about saying where they got it... but that may have been the interpretation of having to disclose whether the company is paying them or gave it to them for free.

As for youtube, the FTC has a channel... and here's a vid mentioning the guidelines that I guess are effective December 1, 2009 (I didn't watch the whole video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBMlq3R85Xk

i wondered if the beauty gurus were exaggerating! so then its really not a big deal and we have nothing to worry about.  Well at least I don't since I get nothing for free anyways lol Grin maybe one day we will get tons of stuff for free to review cuz we will be the famous makeup anarchists hehe Grin
